Siesta Boxing Promotions is delighted to announce that Russian Super middleweight Dmitrii “Night Wolf” Chudinov will fight undefeated Uzbekistan star Azizbek Abdugofurov for the vacant WBC Silver Super Middleweight title in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on the 5th May.
The match up provides a big opportunity for both fighters as a win would cement a top 5 ranking with the WBC. Dmitrii Chudinov who is currently out in Alicante for his training camp with just a moth to go until the bell rings, spoke on his preparation for his trip to Tashkent.
“I want to thank my Manager Al Siesta for creating such a great opportunity to fight for the WBC silver title. Me and my team are out in Alicante, Spain preparing for this important fight. I have fought all over the World, so going to Azizbek’s home to fight him is of no concern to me. For me it’s a great opportunity to fight a great boxer in his home country, I take great pride in that! Me and my team are out in Alicante, Spain preparing like champions for this fight. I have a good team, my coach and manger are all supporting me here as I prepare for Azizbek Abdugofurov, I’m very happy with the work we are doing. We are expecting good results!”
Standing in Chudinov’s way will be the well rated 26 year old Uzbek, Azizbek Abdugofurov winning all of his 10 professional bouts to date. Fighting out of Kuala Lumpur, Abdugofurov is promoted by Vikram Swapragasam recently defeating Alfonso Tissen by unanimous decision. Abdugofurov having fought predominantly in Malaysia and Singapore, the WBC Silver Super Middleweight title fight in the Uzbekistani capital will one of the largest boxing events in the country for many years.
Chudinov recently beat Sergey Khomitsky on the World Boxing Super Series semi final under-card, Khomitsky being a late replacement for Chudinov who was meant to be fighting Nieky Holzken until a late Juergen Braehmer injury.
